5 - Hour Prelicensing Course

 

 
 
If have your NYS Learner's Permit and are about to embark on the process of obtaining your motor vehicle operator's license, you'll need to take the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles approved five-hour course in driving fundamentals.  The Pinnacle Learning Center is an agency regulated by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles to conduct this course. 

This classroom-based course teaches the following:
  • The DMV point system  and how it works
  • The effects of driver values, attitude, behavior and skills 
  • Defensive driving techniques 
  • Administrative law and driving under 21  
  • Alcohol and other Impairments and Driving Don't Mix
  • The benefits of safety restraints and devices.
  • Responsibilities if you are involved in a motor vehicle collision
